"Email already registered" or "workspace URL not available"
Signing up and ClaimDS says your email is already registered, or your workspace URL is taken? Here's what each message means and whether you should sign in, get invited, or pick a new name.
Both of these messages appear at sign-up, and both usually mean "you don't need to create something new." They're ClaimDS stopping you from accidentally making a duplicate account or workspace.
What each message means
- "Email already registered" — an account exists for that email. Sign in instead of signing up.
- "Workspace URL not available" — the workspace name you chose is taken. Pick a different one.
The most common real situation behind the first message is that a colleague already set up ClaimDS for your company. In that case the fix isn't a new account at all — it's getting invited to the existing workspace.
How to resolve it
Work through the steps below to land in the right place — signed in, invited, or with a fresh workspace name. If you can sign in but still can't see anything, see fixing access errors.
How to resolve it
"Email already registered" — sign in instead
This means an account already exists for that email. You don't need a new one — go to the sign-in screen and log in. If you've forgotten the password, use Forgot password to reset it.
Check whether your company already has a workspace
If a colleague set up ClaimDS for your company, you should join their workspace, not create a second one. Ask them to invite you from Settings → Team, then accept the invite from the email link.
"Workspace URL not available" — pick another
Workspace URLs must be unique, so if the one you typed is taken, choose a different name. The form previews the URL as you type so you can find one that's free.
Use a different email only if you really need a separate account
If you genuinely need a distinct account (for example a separate company), sign up with a different work email. Otherwise, signing in or getting invited is almost always the right path.
Frequently asked
My colleague set up ClaimDS — how do I get in?
Ask them to invite you from Settings → Team. You'll get an email link to accept, and you'll join their existing workspace with the role they assign — rather than creating a duplicate.
Can two workspaces share the same URL?
No. Workspace URLs are unique, which is why the form asks you to pick another if the one you wanted is taken.
