Read the accrual register
Use the ClaimDS finance reports to see posted accruals for a period and age your open accruals — so you always know what's been earned and what's still waiting to settle.
The accrual register is where finance sees what ClaimDS has booked as earned, and the open-accruals view is where they see what's still owed. Together they answer the two questions that matter at month-end: what did we earn, and what's still waiting to settle?
Two views, two jobs
The accrual register is a period record — the posted accruals for the month or quarter you're closing. The open-accruals view is a live, aged picture of what's earned but unsettled. Use the first to reconcile the period and the second to chase what's outstanding.
Read the register
Follow the numbered steps below. For what an accrual actually is, see how rebate accruals work; to settle what's open, see run a settlement.
Step-by-step
Open Reports → Finance → Accruals
Go to the finance reports and open the accrual register. It shows the posted accruals for the period — the rebate amounts the calculation engine has booked as earned.
Set the period
Choose the period you're reviewing. The register reflects what was posted in that window, so it ties to the month or quarter you're closing.
Reconcile posted accruals
Use the register to reconcile what's been earned against your books. Because these accruals were computed from your agreements and transactions, they trace back to source rather than being a manual estimate.
Open the open-accruals aging view
Switch to the open-accruals view to see what's been earned but not yet settled, aged by how long it's been waiting. This is your picture of outstanding rebate yet to be paid.
Act on the oldest first
Work the oldest open accruals first — they're the ones most worth chasing into reconciliation and settlement, so the gap between earned and paid stays small.
Frequently asked
What's the difference between the accrual register and open accruals?
The accrual register shows what's been posted in a period; the open-accruals view shows what's earned but not yet settled, aged. One is a period record, the other a live outstanding-balance picture.
Why don't my accruals match what I expected?
Usually because of the agreement's validity window or Eligibility Criteria, or because some transactions aren't loaded. See "My rebate isn't accruing" to track it down.
